These beach cottages pictures were taken from Silver Sands Beach near Charles Island.
Having a summer cottages has been a popular thing to have since the early 1920's.
Before that people weren't really interested in going to the beach.
Going to a summerland, was a luxury held only by the rich.

I love to drive through here and check out all the beach cottages. Seems like they party all summer long. You can see in the picture how they love to hang out on the back porch where the view is, and a great scenic view it is too, just like at Gulf Beach.
